The time I caught that crow !

I love watching crows and chasing them. But they've always been too quick for me. They flap their wings and fly away. They've always been creatures of awe and surprises to me. Once a crow came into our kitchen and mommy called out to me. "Dolu Dolu", she screamed. I ran to my damsel in distress. I saw the crow flapping its wings and flying away through the window. "Wait till I get you", I thought to myself.
Couple of days later, mommy and I were watching TV when I heard a little noise in the kitchen. I slowly looked in the direction of the noise and guess who was searching for crummies on the kitchen floor? The crow. I ran quick as lightning and before the both of us knew it, the crow was in my mouth. I was surprised and pleased with my achievement. I shook my head from side to side in pride. Mommy came screaming at me. She held my neck and said "Droppit droppit droppit". I didn't droppit. She gave me a little whack and when I opened my mouth to tell her to go away, the crow dropped limp. Mommy carried me and ran out of the kitchen closing the door behind her. I just couldn't understand what she wanted. Just two days ago she screamed out to me to come and rescue her and today when I had caught the villain she wanted me to let go of him . Crazy woman. Women are by far crazy I tell you. They never know what they want.
After some time she slowly went into the kitchen to see that the crow had painfully dragged itself out and was lying there unable to move anymore. Dad came in the evening and gingerly put the crow outside.
A little later we heard more noises and went out to see. The crow was lying on the roof - still unable to move and a cat was sneaking up to the crow. Mommy threw water on the cat and the mean old cat slunk away disappointed. Mom left the lights on the whole night and dad kept going and checking on the crow giving me angry looks everytime. Mom kept saying "Imagine what could've happened had I not caught him on time. There'd be bloodshed everywhere in my kitchen".I felt very uncomfortable. I shifted uneasily in my corner and gave them side gazes. Then I sat near their legs and gave them sorry looks and even asked for tummy rubs. Mom can never resist my soft under. Nor can dad. They came to terms with me soon enough.
The next morning the crow was nowhere to be seen. But mom was scared to leave me in the kitchen and go to work. So she left me open in the house while she closed the kitchen door. So I was free to roam around the house all I liked but no access to the kitchen or balcony or any open area. It was so boring.
A week later we saw the crow. It had broken a leg and couldn't keep that leg down and had lost a few feathers near its neck. Apart from that, it was fine. Mom gave me an accusing look again. I didn't bother this time, c'mon the crow is fine so let ME be !
That was my biggest goof up hee hee. But after that  I have only grown naughtier. Mom says I am like Benjamin Button. The older I grow the childisher and cuter I become. Hee hee !

Catch ya'll soon again !

My likes and dislikes

Ok I've got to tell you all about my likes and dislikes. I of course love mommy, daddy and sissy the most in the world. Next in line comes ice cream. I simply looooooooooove the cold and creamy taste in my mouth. I love chicken, eggs, chewies, Springos (my new found love. Thank you Pedigree), toys, squeakies and all fun things. I love to flaunt my bark. Like some people say, yes my bark is worse than my bite, though I never bite. I hate curd and rice. Used to love it, but I am bored of it now. I love tummy rubs. I hate baths. That is a different story all together, will come to baths shortly. I love running on the terrace or front yard or back yard or anywhere bark worthy. I love sleeping on mom's and dad's bed. I hate being disturbed when I am sleepy. I don't like to be locked up or asked to move from one room to another when the maid comes, and oh yes I DESPISE the maid. I love kids. They are lots of fun especially when they scream at the sight of me hee hee. Oh the list is never ending. You'll come to know about it as you get to know me better !

My first long journey

Mommy has a lot of relatives. People kept coming often to see me and I loved them all. Ooh dad's sister too, I loved her so much. So then once a bunch of relatives of mom came and she put me in a big blue cage and took me into a big car. I was scared, very scared. I had travelled in cars before, but not in a cage. I wasn't sure what was happening to me. Mommy sat beside me the whole time, but still I wanted to know what was happening. We travelled for a long long time - about 6 human hours. We stopped in between a couple of times so that I could take a little walk or go for my pee. It was dark before we reached the place. You will never guess who greeted me at the door - my human SISTER ! I was so thrilled and yes I right away pee'ed on her. I ran around the house sniffed every corner and it was nice. That night I slept in my cage. Yeah it was pretty lonely and I kept calling out to mommy and my sister. A little after dawn my sister came and took me out of the cage and put me in the balcony. I ran about quite a bit and stretched my little legs. But then after that, I don't know why, I guess the people in the new house weren't too comfortable with a puppy in the house, they first locked me up in a dingy bathroom, I cried and cried for long, my sister felt very sorry for me and let me out. Then they tied me up in the backyard. There were so many ants. I missed my house very much. I wanted to go back. Finally the next evening mommy gave me a good bath and put me in my cage. My sister also sat in the car with me and we went to this place where there were lots and lots of people and lots of noise. Everybody pointed at me and said, "Puppy puppy". We got into a very long thing - train I learnt its name later. Mommy placed me on a high bed and she sat beside me. I opened my eyes couple of times at night to ensure mommy was beside me, and everytime I saw her I slept again peacefully. What a relief it was to see Daddy waiting for me at the station the next morning. I licked him all over and tried telling him what happened, but he never understands puppy. However, the silver lining was that I reached my house and ran about sniffing the old familiar smells, barked at my crows and squirrels and slept very very peacefully. Phew !

My human sister

Dad and mom both work. So they used to lock me up in the closet so that I do no mischief. But then mom realized that the closet was too congested for me, so she left me in the bedroom. i didn't like being locked up the entire day. I never ate my food while they weren't at home and one day I just got so irritated that I pooped on the bed. Mom was very upset. So she started leaving me in the kitchen. She left the back door open so I could sit and watch the birds and squirrels and all that. The cat wasn't around back then. I'll tell you more about the catS later. So then on one of those days, mom and dad left me as always and went to work or so I thought. It was getting very dark and I wondered where could they be. I heard the door and stood on the kitchen door (its half transparent, so if I can stand on my hind legs I can see all the way till the front door) and saw dad enter. He came running and let me out. I ran out and what do I see? Another human in the house. I dunno why but I took an instant liking towards her. She crooned to me like I was her baby. I ran around her legs, she picked me up and kissed me. I was so excited that I pee'ed all over her. She sat down and I just didn't know what to do, I put my head over her feet and sighed ! I loved her immensely. She wouldn't put me down after that. I too loved being carried around by her. She was so warm and sweet. She slept along with mom and dad in their bed. I sleep in the same room too. I came next to her and whined for me to be picked up. She cuddled me for a while and then put me down. When ever she got up to use the bathroom or drink water I followed her like a love sick puppy. I was and still am a love sick puppy around her. I simply loved her cuddles. And I loved eating from her hands. When mom and dad went to work they didn't lock me in. My human sister and I had fun all day playing and sleeping and eating. But then she had to go back from where ever she came. I was so sad when she left that I didn't eat the whole day. Little did I know that she would come often to see me.
The next time she came, after about a month or so, i went crazy with joy. I again pee'ed all over her. She got me some treats. I loved digging my nose into her bag. It smelled so good - her scent was all over. I wanted to get into her bag and just cuddle there all day, but there was an even better choice, I could cuddle next to her all day. I didn't want to be away from her even for a second. When she went to the bathroom or took a shower I patiently sat by the bathroom door and waited for her to step out and I would pounce on her and lick her and she would laugh and give me more cuddles. Aah ! Her visits were true bliss. Of course mom and dad are great too, I prefer them to my sister any day. I hate it when dad goes to work, I try to bite his shoes and tear his bag, but hey that's just me - wanting to be the center of attention all the time. Some more coming up pretty soon !

My first rain

Hello everyone. Y'all sleep good? Good good. Sleep is very important. Helps u stay focussed when you must. Look at me, I sleep at given point of time. I know a lot of humans complain that they don't sleep good. Lemme tell ya peeps, the secret to sleep good - zero thoughts. I know its difficult n all, but once u get the hang of it. I mean, just when you've turned off the lights, snuggled into bed, thrown the covers over you, shut your mind completely off. Or even better, my big sister tells us that when ever she doesn't feel sleepy, all she does is close her eyes and keep imagining that she is falling down a tunnel, a dark empty tunnel unlike the one in Alice in Wonderland. Keep imagining the fall and you never know when you fall asleep.
Phew, its finally raining here in Chennai. For a very furry dog like me, Chennai heat can be a real trouble. Kills one's appetite. That reminds me - It was one very humid day, I was still a puppy.Mummy jumped up and ran outside in the backyard. I love outsides, front yard, back yard everything. So I dashed out behind her. She was taking off the clothes from the line and something fell on my little head. I shook my head and looked up, and more of it fell. WATER ! I couldn't imagine who was pouring water over me. And it smelled and tasted so good. I opened my mouth to catch some. It wasn't like a heavy downpour, just a few sprays. Soon enough it started to tickle me and I pranced about. Oh it was beautiful. I looked up with my mouth open and tried catching a few drops of water. They were very teeny drops but it certainly was fun. Then mommy ran back inside calling out to me. I ran to the front door. The wooden door was open but the netted door was closed. Enough for a curious little puppy like me to watch the glorious rain. So that was when I started warming up that place with my fat bum when ever I get the opportunity. I simply love to sit there and watch the wonderful things that go about on the streets.
I am still sitting there and looking out. Its fun really. And its raining ! I hear too much of rain's not good either. So lets all hope for a decent shower and - uh oh did I say shower too soon. I can see mommy pick up my towel and go to the bathroom. Time to hide under the bed. Catch y'all laters. Buh'byeeeeee !!

My first encounter with dangerous food

I remember so clearly when these incidents happened. Mommy wouldn't let me into the kitchen. So I used to sit by the door and watch mom and dad eat or just talk at the table. And slowly, very very slowly I used to wriggle my way into the kitchen. Suddenly mommy would notice and chase me away. But later she gave up trying to chase me. I mean, how sadistic is it to keep a tiny pup like me out of the kitchen when there are the most heavenly of aromas coming from within? I love to put my paws up on the work area and see how mommy brings out these aromas. I used to be too tiny back then and my nose hardly reached the workarea when I tried standing on my hind legs. Now I am a big boy and i can sniff all the way across the work area.
Once I was sniffing around the kitchen when something on the floor caught my attention. I sniffed at it. Smelled good. It was thin, long and black. I simply had to taste it. And the minute I bit into it, horror of horrors, that thing stung my lil pink tongue so bad, i spat it out instantly. I hit it time and again with my paw and barked at it and gave it a piece of my doggy mind for trying to hurt a poor pup like me. Later mom laughs hysterically and tells dad that I bit the stem of a chilli. So that was what it was ! I never even look in the direction of a chilli anymore.
I hadn't learnt my lesson well enough. I simply had to have a bite of what mom or dad were eating. Mom was eating something round and green the other day. I put my paws on her lap and sniffed at it and gave her the oh so famous bambi eyes. she tossed that green thing to me. I didn't even sniff. I just bit into it. It was so sour that I again hit it and told it to stop harassing me. That was a sour grape. I totally empathise with that poor fox now ! I have grown extremely choosy and scared of my food now,  I don't eat it until and unless I sniff it a lot of times.
More of my puppy adventures coming up. Hang on !

My first new home

Hello everyone,
I am Dolu, a very cute four year old Spitz. Well I will be four this October. My parents got me home when I was barely a few months old, like in the picture, smaller still. I felt at home almost immediately. I remember I ran around sniffing my new home. And then yes, the first thing I did was piss. I had to mark my territory you see, mark this as MY home. I licked every speck of dust like it was the yummiest treat ever. And I had loosey that very evening. My parents rushed me to the doggy doctor and he said "he's a baby and he doesn't know what's good for him. So don't let him lick". I got my first dose of nasty pills and syrups to stop the loosey. My mommy was at first too scared to even touch me. She always had a phobia for dogs. But now I am her favouritest of all in the world. More stories coming up. Stay tuned !
